Scottie Special 2005

Terrier show OG Bad Homburg-Friedberg, 16.07.2005

On the last Scottie breeder meeting in November 2004 it has been decided that the next Scottie Special should be held a bit more south and during summer.

We had an offer of the local Terrier group OG Bad Homburg-Friedberg to include the Special into their Terrier show in July. The location is close to Frankfurt and the show ground is big enough. It also is possible to park cars and caravans very close to the ring side. Very comfortable for the exhibitors!

The Scottie ring was big enough with plenty of space around for the exhibitors and their equipment. It was a hot day! The temperature was above 30°C and shaddow was rare. Only in the afternoon a tent out of another now empty ring was organised to spend some shaddow for the Scotties in the ring.

As usual the ground was quite wavy. But the dry grass could have been cutted before the show. Many of our Scotties were very pleased with the countless mouse holes in the ring!

After the show also a nice garden party was organized. As the local Terrier group OG Frankfurt held their Terrier show the next day just app. 30KM away, the event turned into a double show.

With Mrs. Nellie Taylor, an experienced Scottie specialist from England was invited to judge the Scotties.

Together with her husband Mr. Raymond Taylor (judge on the following day) she is since many years breeding successful Scotties under their prefix "Wildermist".

Unforgotten is their Ch. Wildermist Clara, who has won 51 CC's and is the record holder in England.

As mentioned before the show was organized very comfortable for the exhibitors. Cars and caravans were parked quite close to the ring and there also was plenty of room for all the tents.

The bench (left) reminded a bit of "Asterix on Corsica". ;-))

There also was a lovingly designed table with Scottie articles.

Pet Class
This time at least the male pet class had a nice entry. Unfortunately the numbers of the exhibitors were not the same as in the catalogue. Therefor I cannot identify every dog. So the 3 pictures has to be left without names of the Scotties.

The garden party

Finally the garden party was organised. After all the dogs were attended there was a lovely meal for us Scottie people and also a small program. We had nice talkings until the nightfall. A real good idea which should be continued - my personal oppinion. Often during the show it is too hectically for longer talkings. It is nice to sit relaxed after the show and discuss all possible themes with people we normally do not meet every day.
