International dog

| The "Winner
Amsterdam" is the biggest and most important dog show in the
Netherlands. It is comparable with the German "Bundes Winner" in Dortmund.
But contrary to Dortmund, Amsterdam is much more expensive than all other
Dutch shows. The entry fee (if you miss the extrem early first closing) is € 68,--
per dog and additionally € 14,-- for parking.
Nevertheless the Winner has it's own special charm. Halls and rings are
generously porportioned, just the exhibitors have only very little space
around. But - as everything in our life - this also has a positive aspect.
So Helen Braiman from Israel (Kennel: Scottish Impress) shared some space
with me. We had a very nice day.
Originally Mr. Geoff Corish,
judge and handler from England, was invited to judge the Scotties.
Unfortunately he had to refuse due to illness. Mr. Knut Sigurd Wilberg
shortly took over his appointment.
Originally Mr. Wilberg is coming from
Sweden but already for a long time he is living in England. After judging he
told me that he remembers
Ch. Sir
Darnley's Gretna Green who went Best in Show under him in 1994. That is
nearly 15 years ago and we have not met inbetween. I was higly impressed!
So I had the joy to tell Mr. Wilberg,
that even 3 of his today winners are great-grandchildren of Gretna.
Because the rings were so big, it was
really difficult for our photographer Rolf Conrads, to take good pictures. |
