Juni 2009. We spend our 2
weeks holiday in Henne Strand at the Danish West Coast. Together with our
Scotties we enjoy the lovely landscape, North Sea, dunes and beach.
On our way back home we
stop at Vejen to participate at 2 CACIB shows. It does not matter that our
dogs were playing in the sea the last 2 weeks. |

| The rings well
prepared, the big venue is nicely situated. In Scandinavia these tents are
very common. They hold up against the wind better than our usual pavilions.
On Saturday the weather was dry but very windy.
As there is an official Top Scottie competiton in Denmark, they
traditionally have high entries. Here it is quite usual to show also the
champion dogs for several years.
The Scotties were judged by the Terrier
Specialist, Mrs. Magret Möller-Sieber from Germany. She is international
well known by her
"Wheaten Rebel's" Irish Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers.
With regard to the Word Winner
Show 2010, that will be held in Denmark, the Danish Kennel Club has
extensively adapted their show rules to the FCI within the last years. But
there are still some differences to our German system.
Only dogs with "excellent" are placed. There is no ranking for dogs
with "very good" or "good". Dogs that are already Danish
Champions at the time of entry have to be shown in Champion class.
They still do not compete for the national CAC. |

The "BIK
class" (Bedst i Køn = Best of Sex) has been adopted again. Here the
best 4 from all "excellent" dogs and bitches are placed. Finally the
best male and the best female are competing for the Best of Breed Scottish
Terrier (Best i Racen).

| There is
another nice tradition in Denmark - at least within the Soctties: When a dog
gaines his Danish Champion title, the owner invites all Scottie people for a
celebration with a drink on the next possible show. Usually there is red
wine, orange juice, salty snacks, biscuits and chocolates
on offer.
Our Q gained his title
in
April 2008 in Hedensted.
Of course we liked to follow this nice Danish tradition and enjoyed to
celebrate Q's title after judging together with all Scottie people.
Hopefully we will be
back next year to celebrate Ruby's new title the
same way. |
