Everything is prepared. The whelping box is standing in the living room, heating lamp and scales are also there.
But as usual Kylie takes her time.

And here they are: The fantastic 4!
Kylie and Merlin are having 4 little girls: tree black and one brindle. The weights are well balanced between 203 and 246 gr.
Because this is Kylie's last litter, together with my vet I have decided for a planned cesarean with castration at the same time.
At home they have the first try at the milk bar.
But these nipple are much too big for the tiny mouths!
Allright, so lets have a nap first to get more power. Brrr, it's cold here - insight it was much warmer and more cosy!
But late in the night all are drinking finally. Everything works fine!!
As always the first night is a bit uneasy, the quartette has to settle with their new way of live.

Already next morning everything lookes different: They are already drinking in a row. Powerful the small tongues are lying around the teats.
Of course Kylie is still tired but she has drunk already and has even been outside in the garden. She also took over the complete care of her little girls.

At the evening for the first time they lay next to eachother not over eachother. So they feel comfortable and not too cold.
Now I can reduce the temperature in the whelping box to app. 21°C, which is much nicer for Kylie.
Kylie proudly presents her girls. As always she is a perfect mom!

This is the smallest girl. She is already nearly as heavy as her sisters.

Now the little girls are 10 days old and growing very fast.
Peace and silent!
They already got more coat in these 12 days and also on their small ears the hair starts to grow.
But until now eyes and ears are still not open..
Today the babies are 2 weeks old. They already received their first vermifuge.
2 of the girls already opended their eyes.
In the warming box it is now getting more and more narrow.
In the meantime all 4 have opened their eyes and immediately they are more busy. Sometimes you can already hear a growl or a small wuff ;-)
But of course they still sleep alot!
