Finally back on a show in Denmark. Lastly I
was here in 1994. That time I showed Kylie's mother
Multi Ch. Sir Darnley's Gretna Green
and her grandma
Multi Ch. Downtown
Shirley Shamrock. Gretna won the CAC and Shirley went 2nd. in breed.
The CACIB in Hillerød was held in big and
friendly halls. Also for Danish shows the entry of 40 Scotties was high but
not unusal.
The Scotties were judged by Veli-Pekka Kumpumäkki
from Finland. His kennel Perhaps (Westies and Scotties) is well known
in whole Europe.
The system used on Danish shows is
different to the one in Germany.
The classes are similar to ours. I have
noted the criteria below the classes names. Additionally is the Senior class
for dogs from 7 to 9 years. The Veteran class starts with 10 years.
Like in France the dogs in Chamion class
compete for the CACIB but not for the national CAC.
Only 1st price (1. præmie,
exellent)
dogs are placed. 2nd. price (2. præmie,
very good)
or lower rated dogs leave the ring directly after being judged on the table.
In addition the judge may assign a "CK" (=Certificate Quality)
to several 1st. price dogs in a class. This concerns all classes exept the
Puppy class.

| The
competition for best male/best female is a separate class consisting of all
dogs with CK. The best 4 dogs are placed. This also decides about the
awarding of CAC/CACIB.

compete for best of breed (BIR). |
